A message from the CEO, Sarah Sprack
|
|
At the end of this summer term and the 2023/2024 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who makes up our Trust community and for the part you play in ensuring we are successful in all that we do. Over the last year, trustees and senior leaders have completed a piece of work revisiting our vision and values as they are now 10 years old (how time flies!). We will continue to develop, share and promote these in the new academic year but are confident that our new ethos
"Inspiring Excellence Together - A place where communities matter and individuals thrive"
now really reflects who we have grown to become.
Epworth Primary Academy is a key part of Isle Education Trust. It has been a pleasure to see the amazing work that has taken place over this year. The Ofsted report, written in June, is quite simply phenomenal and captures the essence of who we are. The entire staff team and pupils truly deserved the accolades written within it. I know that what was written has spurred staff on to raise the bar yet
|
higher which, having regularly seen the team in action, I didn't think was possible! Epworth really is a fantastic place to work and learn.
With the recent change of government and associated new Education secretary, we do not know what awaits us over the summer and next year, but I can guarantee that whatever it is, we will continue to work tirelessly to make the experience for all involved positive, enjoyable and successful.
I hope you have a wonderful summer.
Sarah Sprack

Principal's Update, Sean Woolley.
|
|
Another term is nearly gone, and we race into the summer holidays. It seems only yesterday that we were welcoming the children back to school in September. So much has happened during the year which we should proudly celebrate.
The children have continued to enjoy a vast array of wider experiences across the year. Whether these have been in art, music or sport children have been able to engage in so many opportunities. Trips to watch world championships, international tennis players, ballet, concerts to name a few. The children have also met world-ranked sports stars in person. In addition, so many children now learn a musical instrument, which was a key wish from parents when we first met and consulted 5 years ago.
The academy as a whole has gone from strength to strength over the past year culminating in an amazing Ofsted outcome and wonderful report. The praise in this report
|
reflects the hard work and attitude of both staff and children. I can not tell you how proud I am of both of these groups, they amaze me every day. The line that has stuck with me is that 'Children flourish in this exceptional school'.
I think on that note I will wish you a lovely summer and well-earned rest for the children and staff so they can begin again in September.
Sean Woolley

Nut Allergy (Please read this very important information)
We have a number of children in school who have a very severe nut allergy (Peanuts/hazelnuts/almond). As the allergy is from ingestion and touch we have enforced a total ban of all nuts in school.
Your child is not at any risk whatsoever from this situation. However, the health and wellbeing of our pupil who is at risk, does depend on your co-operation nuts i.e. Chocolate spread, cakes, biscuits etc.
Thank you for your co-operation in this very serious matter.
