Uniform at Epworth Primary Academy

Children at Epworth Primary Academy wear uniform and the basic colours are royal blue and grey. Uniform is strongly supported by parents and all our children are expected to dress in school uniform. School uniform can be purchased from the school office and some stock is kept in school. This is designed to give our children a sense of pride in belonging to our school and is hard wearing and practical for the demands of a busy day.

Wearing a uniform is very helpful to parents because it takes away the morning problem of 'what shall I wear today'? It also reduces pressure on parents to buy expensive clothes so children can compete with others.

A full list of the uniform is listed below.

Boys:

  • black or grey trousers
  • white or pale blue plain shirt or polo shirt
  • Royal blue school sweatshirt or jumper
  • Black shoes

Girls:

  • black or grey trousers or black or grey skirt or pinafore
  • white or plain blue blouse or polo shirt
  • Royal blue school sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan
  • Black shoes

In the summer blue/white small check or stripe dresses may be worn.

A school tie is optional.

School fleeces may be worn as an option outside - but are not part of the uniform to wear inside.

Please ensure that all clothing and footwear is clearly marked with your child's name so lost items can be returned. With 260 children wearing the same uniform you can imagine the difficulty if clothing isn't labelled and then gets lost. We have lost property boxes which parents are welcomed to look in for lost items.

PE Kit

For both indoor and outdoor PE children must have a full change of clothes including footwear. This is to encourage a healthy, hygienic approach to physical activity.

  • Plain white T shirt

Girls may wear a blue leotard if they wish Children will do indoor PE in bare feet.

Outdoor PE kit:

  • Plain white T shirt
  • In colder weather a tracksuit or sweatshirt could be worn

Jewellery, make up or nail varnish must not be worn for school with the exception of plain ear studs if ears are pierced. It is expected that studs will be removed for all PE activities including swimming or children will not be able to participate for health and safety reasons. If ears have recently been pierced, studs may be covered with a plaster (supplied by home). This is in line with the PE guidelines of the Local Authority.
